This Notice (together with any other documents we refer to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. By contacting us, using our services, or visiting our website, which is owned and controlled by us (“our website”), you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Notice unless you inform us otherwise.

You may give us information about you by filling in forms on our site, by corresponding with us by phone, post or email, in person at our Visitor Centre, or at an event. This includes information you provide if you subscribe to our services or use other social media functions on our site, become a member, take out a Hive Aid subscription, register for one of our courses, enter a competition, promotion or survey, supply us with goods or services, volunteer with us, and if you report a problem with our site. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number. For specific purposes (usually only if you are attending a course or an event with us), we may also ask for additional information such as dietary requirements, medical conditions and allergies, and next of kin / emergency contact details. If you are buying a membership, Hive Aid, or another product from us on behalf of someone else, you may also provide us with their details: please be sure that they consent for you to do this.
If you pay for a membership, Hive Aid, course booking or other product through our website, payment will be processed by PayPal or Worldpay. Please be sure that you read and accept their terms and conditions before using the payment process.
Details of your financial transactions with us are retained in accordance with normal accounting practice, and as required by law.
With regard to visits to our site we may automatically collect the following information:technical information, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; data about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time); products you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page. Tracking information is collected using Google Analytics, and information regarding purchases is collected using NopCommerce.
Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of third parties. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.
We do not normally receive information about you from third parties, unless you allow a third party to take out a membership, a Hive Aid subscription or a course booking, or buy a product from us on your behalf. If this happens without your consent, please contact us.
We work with third parties (including, for example, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services and volunteering organisations) and may receive information about you from them.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers or on secure servers operated by a third party. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. Communication by email is also subject to the privacy policy of your own service provider.
We will not store your data for any longer than is necessary. Data not required for contractual or legal reasons will not normally be held for more than one year after one-off purchases or the expiry of annual memberships or subscriptions. When sensitive information (e.g. medical conditions, bee-sting allergy, food allergies, etc.) is collected in connection with a specific event, it will be destroyed after the end of the event.
Your data can be removed from our records on request at any time, in accordance with your legal rights.
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. Our only marketing is through our website and our newsletters, so you can exercise your right to prevent such processing by staying away from our website and unsubscribing from the newsletter (either by using the unsubscribe link, or by contacting us).
